Banana Door Stopper

By Olga Davydova

Posted 15 October, 2007 in Lifestyle

Throw this banana peel under the door and don’t be afraid of slipping on it. It’s designed by, you guessed it, a Japanese artist, for keeping your doors open. Buy the yellow one (ripe) or the green one (unripe).

Kawaii Geisha Tea Set

By Olga Davydova

Posted 20 August, 2007 in Kawaii, Lifestyle

This kawaii Geisha Tea Set absolutely blows my mind! Not only does it carry an incredibly cute and simple Japanese girl character, but the color scheme is amazingly well chosen too.

This Girly Geisha tea set is a highly stylised, but unique British interpretation of the traditional Japanese tea ceremony, inspired by a recent trip to Japan. - Says the designer’s website

The tea set was created by ceramics and cards designer Sara Taylor from the UK. All her products are manufactured in the UK from fine bone china. They are functional pieces of tableware, and would make a great gift for those people who, like my grandmother, love collecting porcelain.

The tea set is apparently not sold online, but you can buy it through Sara Taylor catalog.

How to buy Blythe online in the USA or outside Japan

By Olga Davydova

Posted 10 July, 2007 in Pop Culture, Blythe buying guide, Guides

Blythe

I believe Blythe is the cutest and the most stylish doll on the planet, that’s why this blog is going to mention her once in a while.

Collecting Blythes has just one major drawback. You can’t buy it outside Asia, Australia or New Zealand, but there are several stores (in addition to Ebay) which do ship these dolls to America.

Here’s the list, if you know any more shops selling Blythe please add them in the comments to this post.

Thisisblythe.com - a very reliable store that has some rare dolls, awesome Blythe clothes and nice prices. Belongs to the official Blythe photographer Gina Garan who published several awesome photo albums with pictures of Blythe, such as Blythe Style, This Is Blythe. Accepts payments in Paypal. Best of all, it’s located in the US.

More shops that ship to the USA and other countries after the jump: (more…)
