Figure out RebeccaBonbon’s breed

The creators of the cute Japanese puppy character RebeccaBonbon that I wrote about yesterday swear that she is a French Bulldog, however our reader Grady is sure that they are mistaken, saying French Bulldogs don’t have black bodies (although after looking at some French Bulldog photos I’m pretty convinced they do), and believes that Rebecca is a Boston Terrier.

• I think she’s a french bulldog.
  If the designers say she is, there is probably a pet she based on somewhere.
  One that someone probably paid a lot of money for a good frenchy bloodline. :]
  Both boston terriers and french bulldogs can have the black bodies and cute white markings!

• I have been owned by two Boston Terriers in my life…one a brindle my present one black and white.

  Rebecca is a Frenchie…..FYI, Frenchies come in ALL colors and with all sorts of markings.

  I love both breeds - I adore dogs with “mooshy” faces, like Bostons, Pugs, Frenchies, etc.

  But take my word for it — Rebecca is a French Bulldog, not a Boston Terrier.

• BTW, there are some French Bulldogs with a coat pattern called “hooded pied”…from far away, they could be mistaken for a short, bulky Boston Terrier.

  Check out the American Kennel Club site (google it) for the breed standards for Bostons and Frenchies and you will see what I mean.
