Rebecca Minkoff Hello Kitty Handbags

American handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff has teamed up with Sanrio and their more mature division Momoberry to create a line of Hello Kitty handbags for “grown up girls”.

The line includes a clutch, a satchel and a tote. The clutch is made of leather and blue fabric with Hello Kitty pattern, the satchel and the tote are made of Italian leather lined inside with the same blue fabric with the Kitty pattern that the clutch is decorated with. The hardware on all the bags features engraved Hello Kitty face.

I think the bags look rather retro and I still haven’t made up my mind whether I’d like to own one or not. In any case, it’s better to see them in real life before buying. However, the bags are available online via Sanrio Shop.

New York Fashion Week, day 6, Cute and Wacky Highlights: Marc Jacobs
By Olga Davydova
Posted 11 September, 2007 in Sizzling Cute, Fashion, Creepy Runway, Trends
The new collection by Marc Jacobs had all that it takes to get an entry ticket into our Wacky Fashion section: asymmetrical cuts, party hats, hats shaped like large bows or bitten apples, necklaces shaped like giant bees, clutches with enormous fringe, clutches decorated with frogs, colorblock patterns looking like underwear, shoe heels parallel to the floor. Not to mention that the crazy collection was shown backward, in the beginning Marc walked out of the set to bow, then the models appeared showing off the looks from the last one to the first one.

The best, wackiest and the cutest item of the entire fashion week has to be his see through tote bag with a smaller clutch bag attached to its side like an applique. Just look at it and admire. It’s perfect!

Cute San-X Rilakkuma Chicks Evening Wallet
By Olga Davydova
Posted 1 August, 2007 in Kawaii, Discoveries

OMG! San-X is planning to release a limited edition long evening wallet featuring a tiny chick who is the best friend of the company’s leading character Rilakkuma bear. It’s available for preorder at their online shop, and will be shipped out to customers only in November.
The wallet is made of gold faux leather embossed with chick pattern and decorated with rhinestones. Apparently it also comes with a chick shaped piggy bank and a “good fortune” amulet for attracting money to your wallet. Pretty clever!
I really love this adorable wallet, which is a perfect example of Fashionably Cute’s Standard #1. It doesn’t look tacky, because the cuteness is not over the top here, and I’m even thinking about buying it (although it’s only sold in Japan, but it’s possible to purchase Japanese goods through a shopping deputy). It would go so well with my Aaron Basha duckling pendant!

The wallet doubles as a clutch and would accent an evening outfit perfectly. To avoid the dreaded cuteness overdose, I’d wear the clutch and the duckling pendant with a classic little black dress, a black cardigan and black shoes.
