“Aketsun!” is a doll artist famous among Blythe collectors. Her designs are colorful and memorable. Her doll won a runner-up prize in the first annual Blythe Beauty Contest a few years ago.

1. CWC Charity Auction “あけつん!”, 2. 11_Aketsun_2, 3. Dollchick+ ~ あけつん!, 4. Dress Set “Fall Whispe”

This year “Aketsun!” has designed a beautiful dress set for Blythe that will be officially manufactured and sold by the CWC. The dress set is called “Fall Whisper”.

You can browse “Aketsun!”’s blog (in Japanese) or read an interview with her (in English) on Blythe’s official website.

Atelier Matin: Fabulous Style

By Olga Davydova

Posted 21 July, 2008 in Fashion

Please look at the fantastic works of Matin-san (aka Masanari Arakawa) from Tokyo.

1. auc301, 2. From Linda/addictedtoplastic, 3. sunglasses & ray-gun set on ebay, 4. sunglasses & ray-gun set on ebay

Matin-san designs out of this world sunglasses, toy guns, bags and sofas for Blythe and Emerald Witch under the brand name Atelier Matin. His handmade miniatures are so finely detailed that Re-Ment weeps in shame.

Matin-san’s style reminds me of the 60s Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent feel with a modern twist, and his furniture design skills surpass the imagination of Salvador Dali.

The cute sunglasses are so sought after by Blythe collectors that when Matin-san puts them up for sale on Ebay or his Etsy shop all the quantities get sold out in a few minutes! Too bad he doesn’t make glasses or sofas in human size.

Enjoy browsing Atelier Matin’s Flickr, Japanese blog and English-language Etsy shop.
