Fashionably Cute is going to cover the entire New York Fashion Week, ready to wear Spring-Summer 2008. Here are the cutest highlights of the first day.

Accentuated waists. Thank goodness the dreaded ugly “maternity” dresses are a thing of the past. It’s trendy to wear a belt where the waist is supposed to be.

Belts should be yellow. Yellow accessories look really cute with any outfit.

Yellow looks great with cool pastel colors: powder blue, gray, silver, lilac and white. These colors seem to be very “in” for the spring.

Degrade continues to be in. Many designers from Prada to Louis Vuitton added gradients to their Fall-Winter collections, but the trend is still strong. The most stylish gradients are those that fade from dark colors (black, purple, brown) to white, very light gray or beige.
