RebeccaBonbon, a cute French Bulldog character by Hello Kitty designer

RebeccaBonbon is a new cute Japanese character with high fashion flair. It’s an adorable, posh and pampered french bulldog created by the person who designed Hello Kitty for Sanrio in 1974, Yuko Shimizu. Rebecca has her own official website with lots of information in English, desktop goodies, videos (Rebecca TV) and lots of merchandise including jewelry, clothing, shoes and cell phone accessories.

Here is Rebecca’s bio from her official website:

Rebecca is a young French Bulldog. She was born in France. An American girl fell in love with her and brought her home to New York. Rebeccabonbon was born on November 11.
Now she lives in a spacious apartment with a room overlooking Central Park.
Of course, Rebecca takes her daily walks in the park wearing her best outfits.
She meets her many friends there and enjoys chatting with them. Rebecca loves flowers and ribbons, and accessories of all sorts. She has so many, too, for all of her weekend parties and picnics.
But what she loves most are candied bonbons. in fact, She loves bonbons so much that she came to be known and loved by all as Rebeccabonbon.

• Psst Rebecca - get your dog breeds straight! French Bulldogs don’t have black bodies, that would be a Boston Terrier….although it looks more like a cat.

  I must add… it is very cute.

• She’s adorable! I have met a lot of French bulldogs who are black but I agree this has a Boston Terrier look but still…cute no matter what! I had a weird encounter with a French bulldog long ago … I was about to give it a kiss and it decided to kiss me too and jumped up, hitting my nose with its very hard skull! I thought I was seriously injured at first, and I no longer kiss French bulldogs

• With all due respect, get YOUR dog breeds straight.

  French Bulldogs DO come in black.

  They come in ALL colors and coat patterns.

  I have been owned by two Boston Terriers - my first (who I lost in 2005 after 15 years) was a brindle; my current Boston is black and white.

  There are some French Bulldogs with a coat pattern called “hooded pied”…from far away, they could be mistaken for a short, bulky Boston Terrier.
